The 2010 Election is Over

But Staying Informed Isn't

Jobs and the North Bay's future depend on your vote

How to: Setup a Registration Drive

Set-up A Registration Drive

Nothing attracts attention like an attractive voter registration table!  Voter registration tables can be manned – or unmanned in a high traffic area.

Ideal times for a manned table are during lunch, breaks, or between shifts to encourage employees to register to vote.  Consider a voter registration table at company picnics, at special events, or in a customer area.

  • Announce dates, times and locations of your voter registration table.  Post notices in the lunch room, break room, timecard areas and public spaces and distribute via email or company newsletter.
  • Get attention!  Put up a colorful voter registration table manned by enthusiastic staff in a high traffic area.  Post a “Register to Vote Here” banner.  Print it out, tape it together and hang it above your voter registration table.  If you wish, add balloons, music, or other energy-generating attractions.
  • Offer a small treat to everyone who comes by.  Cookies, candy or a snack make it fun and help spread the word.  If an employee is already registered, thank them!  Ask if they need a form for a family member.
  • Put out “the basics” – Voter registration forms, absentee ballot applications, and a place to drop off the completed applications.  Check out frequently asked questions about voting.
  • Determine an internal location where employees can drop off their completed forms for mailing if they don’t wish to mail them personally.  You can send the applications to the address on the registration form in one envelope.
